Barracudas are the Champions!

Congratulations Barracudas!!

A wonderful win tonight against Eagle Watch, final score Barracudas 501, Eagle Watch 436 -- a 65 point victory over a tough team who were last year's county champions. Great swimming and alot of fun with parent relays and swimmer relays. You all showed that the Barracudas can't be beat!

Huge thank yous to our swimmers for working so hard this season to become the best they could be, to our coaches for long hours of putting together heat sheets, and for making practices and meets so much fun (we all especially liked the hip dance moves tonight by both Coach Johnny & Coach Hess), to our committee coordinators -- Bullpen for coraling our kids, Volunteering for making sure we always had people at the right place at the right time, Concessions for providing great food and drink and earning the most concession profits we've ever had, our Photographer for capturing these special moments, our Scorekeepers for keeping precise track of our points, our Office Team for entering, updating, label sticking, ribbon writing and anything else they were asked, our Banquet coordinator for planning a great party for all of us tomorrow night and to all of our parents for the countless (and I do mean countless) ways you make our swim team run so smoothly. Our successes this season are because of all of you!

We're so proud of our team for becoming this year's Cherokee County Champions and more importantly for showing such amazing team spirit on the road to that victory!

Reminder, there is no fun Friday tomorrow so enjoy sleeping in and we'll see everyone at the banquet tomorrow night for celebrations.

District Swim Meet - July 10th

Hi Everyone,

The district swim meet is coming up on Saturday, July 10th. For everyone attending this meet, we will be holding practices beginning on Tuesday, July 6th thru Friday July 9th at 9am-11am at the main pool.

The district meet is being held in Douglesville and I will post the directions and start times as soon as we receive them.

Good luck to all of our swimmers -- we very proud of all of you!

Barracudas Rock the Waves

Congratulations Barracudas!!

Another great win tonight with a score of Barracudas 482, Wyngate Waves 446 --
a 36 point victory! Great swims by all of our kids and alot of great team spirit shown. The Waves put on a wonderful luau party.

We have a busy week ahead, the last week already -- seems like the season has gone by really fast this year. Tomorrow is Fun Friday beginning at 9am and ending at 11am. Remember to pick up your ribbons, also if you have not picked up your t-shirt, please see me during the week to get them. Our last meet is against Eagle Watch, at our home pool. It will most likely be another close one, so get ready for some fast swimming.

Our banquet is next Friday, July 2nd at the main pool. We will start serving dinner (catered by Longhorn's )at 6:30 and then we will have our awards ceremony and slide show. You should have received a registration email form or you can pick one up at the pool Forms must be turned in by Monday so that we can give Longhorn's an accurate count. Meal costs are listed on the form -- Adult dinners are $9 and Child dinners are $6. This is a change from last year, as the team is not paying for the children's meals this year. Unfortunately, we were unable to have food donated as in prior years -- most likely due to the economy. Also, we are reserving some of the team funds towards a computer and printer -- since the ones we had last year both died and we have been using a loaner system. We're planning to have a great time and hope all of you can attend. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me.

One final item, if you have any final pictures you want included in the slideshow, please get them to AmyBeth Bell by tomorrow (Friday, June 25).

Great job tonight by our swimmers and by all of our parent volunteers. The wyngate team complimented all of our parents on doing such a great job of cleaning up after the meet and said that we were the best (and most fun) team they've ever hosted. So thanks to all of you for that!!!
